Compatibility Comes First
Not every thermostat works with every system. Heat pumps need a thermostat set up to control heat pump operation and backup heat, and wiring varies from home to home; some thermostats need wiring your current one doesn't use. We check your equipment and wiring before we install anything.
Placement Matters
A thermostat in direct sun, near a supply vent, beside a kitchen or on an exterior wall can read the wrong temperature and run the system on bad information. If your current location is part of the problem, we'll tell you.

No. A heat pump needs a thermostat that can control it and its backup heat. We'll check compatibility before installing.
Why doesn't my thermostat's reading match how the room feels?
It may be in a poor location, like direct sun or near a supply vent, or the sensor may be failing. Humidity also changes how a temperature feels.
Can I install a thermostat myself?
Some homeowners do. If you have a heat pump, the wiring isn't clear, or the new thermostat needs wiring the old one didn't use, it's worth having us handle it.
